An Assembly Artist is responsible for lighting, rendering, and compositing shots with character, environment, and visual effects together to meet the top-notch quality requirement in animated content for TV and Games.
An Assembly Artist needs to basic understand on full CG process, film and photographic lighting techniques, lighting design, HDRI and global illumination rendering, color theory, and to have keen eye in developing dynamic mood and feel for the animated content according to the art direction in a project.
Job Responsibilities:
Able to do lighting and compositing shots with character, environment, and visual effect for team lead / supervisor’s approval on a daily’s basis.
Work closely with teammates and team lead to maintain consistent process and visual quality.
Able to meet the project requirements.
Able to meet deadlines.
Effectively communicate issues regarding their shots and seek advises from seniors and team lead.
Actively seek information to get a clear understanding upon receiving feedback from the seniors and team lead.
Able to QC own works.
Job Requirements:
Good knowledge in Maya, Photoshop, and global illumination lighting software such as Arnold, V-Ray and Redshift.
Basic knowledge of node-based compositing workflow like Nuke is required.
Good knowledge of compositing skill and lighting techniques especially in light and shadow.
Good knowledge of color theory like color space, color contrast, color correction, color matching and exposure.
Basic knowledge of Shotgun and Thinkbox Deadline.
Understanding of visual composition and ability to enhance mood and feel by lighting.
Knowledge of After Effects, Unreal and traditional art will be a plus.
Attention to details.
Good knowledge of directory structure, file formats, naming conventions and automation tools.
Good communication skills, able to take direction positively.
Ability to work in a team with no conflicts.
Eager to learn and willing to accept new opportunities and challenges.
